Special thanks to Renata Fromme di Battista who emailed me back in 2010 and sent me a vast amount of information concerning the Pralle/Fromme roots that I have from my great-grandmother Caroline (Pralle) Fleischhauer. Familysearch.org provided information concerning the parish of origin and christening records with their record collection of Germany. No immediate finds in the passenger lists, so far it seems I will need to be open-minded when searching the surname of immigrants. For example, William H Pralle my second great-grandfather can be found arriving on the ship SAALE in New York on 17 Jun 1887 recorded as “Wilh Praell”. Confirmation that the individuals are the same comes from the age at arrival, 16 years old, and the date of arrival given on his naturalization.
